Prefabricated Structure

The project represented CCAA’s entry to the annual Parking Day design installations in Philadelphia, PA.  Every project was located on a parking spot for a day within Philadelphia.  The project was a joint venture between CCAA and NORR Design.  The installation explored prefabrication of wood panels as means for sustainability and rapid on-site assembly. The installation exhibited photographs of Philadelphia by local photographers, while exploring the play of Sun shadows, kinetic wind energy and views of the surrounding historical sites in Center City Philadelphia.  All of the materials the “parklet” was constructed from where recycled after the installation was disassembled.
